A System Kitchen Design for Single-person Household and Elderly Household. The eating habit is a basic condition that affects human's quality of life and is directly connected to later life. There is a lack of space for complicated meal preparation process and for the physical changes considering the physical characteristics of the elderly, along with the difficulty of effective organization. Therefore, the following is the suggestion of the kitchen for single-person and elderly households with their life and cooking styles reflected. The first is the application of module and unit structures for effective space use. The second is the effectiveness of storage and holders(rotating type storage closet and changeable cradle) for removal of obstacles in cooking, easy control of functional elements(use of the arm and vertical pole), the function used as needed(use of storage worktable) and the storage of spice jars that are often used. The third is the control of harmful gases generated in cooking(controllable hoods), safety and prevention of gas accident(use of electric induction range) and the use of lighting(confirming the freshness of food, easy operation) for safe cooking environment.
