Zapotal Beach Club

The architectural design goal for the Beach Club and Restaurant was showcasing wood and other natural materials typical of Costa Rica in a contemporary aesthetic. The lighting intent was to use minimal downlighting and create glowing spaces with warm-dim sources that accentuate the natural materials. Spaces used for relaxing, lounging and dining are designed to be warm and comfortable while balancing drama and the perception of light. Timeclock-triggered lighting scenes are programmed with the time of day so carefully set lighting scenes blend seamlessly from day to evening.
