This project involves the transformation of a 60-year-old home, originally characterized by a narrow layout, inadequate lighting, and outdated interiors, into a warm and modern residence. The clients, a newlywed couple who are dental technicians, envisioned a space that embodies modernity, functionality, and personal expression. Centered around the theme of "rebirth," the design reimagines the original layout with thoughtful material choices, resulting in a home that seamlessly blends technological sophistication with inviting warmth.
The design concept integrates metallic finishes, dark wood tones, and artistic textures to create a sense of depth and modern elegance. A standout feature is the curved metal ceiling in the hallway, enhanced by indirect lighting to establish a gallery-like corridor that connects the public and private areas. The master bedroom showcases an accent wall with artistic paint and gold details, exuding understated luxury. In the bathroom, green tiles and floral patterns introduce a playful yet refined character.
Practicality is key in this redesign, with ample storage, flexible layouts, and future-proofing solutions thoughtfully integrated into the space. Custom-designed elements, such as the dining table and display rack, merge functionality with aesthetic appeal.
To address challenges like the restrictive hallway and poor natural lighting, strategic lighting placement and curved structural elements were introduced, creating a sense of openness and continuity. The project successfully transforms an aging home into a vibrant, functional, and visually compelling residence, offering the perfect balance of modern design and emotional warmth.
