The small auditorium is a monument on a flat beach, and we hope it can become a building that people are willing to stay and observe; I hope it has mysterious light and shadow, allowing people to enter and experience it, triggering their thinking and perception, and touching their hearts!

The concept of origami

The scheme design seeks architectural prototypes from origami, folds paper to form unit structures, and through continuous repetition and combination, creates a building volume with a sense of rhythm and sculpture. The rough white coating material on the exterior enhances this morphological feature, and against the backdrop of yellow sand, blue sky, and sea, the building reflects soft sunlight, becoming more eye-catching.

Logo form

As the light and shadow change throughout the day, the small auditorium presents different forms at different times, and the light and shadow create secondary carvings on the building's volume. As night falls, the white floor lights illuminate the entire building, contrasting with the warm yellow light transmitted from the interior. Across the sea, the towering and bright buildings have become a business card of the island.

Seven color light and shadow

We took the stained glass stained glass windows of Gothic churches as a prototype and applied them to the design of the chapel. A long colored glass skylight is installed at the top of the auditorium, filtering sunlight through frosted colored glass and casting soft light of different colors indoors. The origami like architectural form is like a box of light and shadow, arranging seven colors of light and shadow in order from warm to cool, creating an extremely mysterious atmosphere of sky light. Looking up, it feels like communicating and conversing with the heavens.

Experience Path

We have designed two paths, one bright and one dark, to reach the ceremony space inside the small auditorium. Different paths into the ceremony space bring two completely different walking experiences, leading to the same destination. The final destination is a mysterious seven color light and shadow space.
