Micro Perspective,Historial-A Scenario Experience Exhibition

Situated in the Tainan Science Park, a major semiconductor manufacturing center, the Museum of Archaeology (Tainan Branch of National Museum of Prehistory) collects and displays a wealth of archaeological discoveries spanning over 5,000 years, making it an important gateway to understanding the history of southern Taiwan and its environmental changes. Given that the 300th anniversary of the founding of Tainan is coming up in 2024, the Museum presents the current exhibition that features three microscopic findings in archaeology: “Basalt with Peridotite,” “Glass,” and “Porcelain” as illustrations of significant exchanges from the prehistoric period to the historical period in Tainan.

The exhibition is designed around the concept of the colorful world through a microscope, reflecting a lively and chic style. At the entrance, visitors will find a corridor decorated with imageries of different mineral elements as they explore the world of microscope. Upon entering the exhibition hall, visitors are greeted by a cylinder column with an illusionary effect at the center of the room, extending outward from the center into the Knowledge Zone and the Contextual Experience Zone. In the Contextual Experience Zone, three historical periods from the “Neolithic Era,” “Iron Age,” to the “Historical Age” are restored to their respective settings, with ancient costumes and props being provided for visitors to dress up and get immersed in Tainan throughout time and space, thus making the museum exhibition enjoyable for all ages.
