The project is located in Shantou, Guangdong Province, known as the "Gateway to Lingdong and a Vital Hub in Southern China," serving as an important portal on the Marine Silk Road.
As a branch of China's excellent traditional culture, Shantou boasts a rich cultural heritage. Among them, the "traditional residential spatial layout," "ritual inheritance," and "feng shui and humanities" hold great significance in the lives of the local "Chaoshanese" people. Taking this cultural backdrop into consideration, the design comprehensively integrates the essence of Shantou's humanities and traditions into the site, starting from the overall spatial layout. This creates a harmonious layout where "feng shui resides and heaven and humanity are united," seeking the poetry of Lingnan life and crafting an ideal living environment.
Adjacent to the Binhe River Park, the site is blessed with abundant natural resources. We utilize the riverfront park next to the project as a medium, presenting a three-dimensional landscape painting through the Green Core(a green and healthy home), the Cohesion Core (inheritance of Confucian family values), and the Life Core (carrier of a beautiful life). This seamlessly integrates the residential area with the urban park, allowing the riverbank to become a shared breathing space and a flowing scenery for the community.
Simultaneously, echoing the local residences and combining with the unique atmosphere of the site, we have created a spatial structure of "One Core, One Loop, Three Rituals, Eight Gardens," offering rich landscape experience layers and a smooth, flowing garden exploration. With twelve distinctive overhead layer designs connecting indoor and outdoor spaces, we have incorporated themed scenes from the perspective of the experiencer. Structured around a comprehensive age-inclusive system, it forms a place for the elderly, middle-aged, youth, and pets to participate, crafting a "third space" in community life. This fosters a "warm and attitudinal" community life within the neighborhood.
