"Pleasure"

The history of Kappabashi Dougumachi started in the first year of the Taisho era when several Dougu and antique dealers set up shops around Kappabashi over the Shinbori River.

Located in the middle of Ueno station and Asakusa station, about 800 meters north and south, about 170 specialty stores handling tableware, kitchen equipment, kitchen utensils, confectionery tools, food raw materials and packaging supplies are connected in an arcade. There is.

The Mashimaya Confectionery Tool Store was founded in 1958 by the current president, Grandfather Saburo Yoshida, taking over the shop name from Majima Kisaburo Shoten (the oldest confectionery tool specialty store in Japan) located in Kanda Manseibashi.

Right next to Asakusa Honganji, there is a store about 3 minutes on foot from Asakusa Dori to Kappabashi Dougu Street, and there are various kinds of confectionery tools, both Japanese and Western.

In addition, the "wood pattern" carved by a wood pattern craftsman (Mr. Hitoshi Ogawara, died in 2019) who has carved wood patterns at Mashimaya has been extremely popular among candy stores nationwide and smiles to many people. Has been delivered.

Therefore, at the Mashimaya Confectionery Tool Store, we designed the theme of "Kikata" with the meaning of making people happy with "Kashikata".

From here, I hope that through making sweets, a smile will spread throughout Japan.
