The significance of this design update lies in breaking routines, guiding people to deeply feel the gifts of time and nature, and to experience the vitality brought by time through ancient objects. The interesting contrasts unfold with rich details: the tranquil Zen atmosphere, restrained minimalist textures, natural textured paintings, abstract geometric artworks, and the collision of old furniture with contemporary design—all vividly coexist in one space, creating layers that are progressive, full of tension and vitality. The old and the new should harmoniously coexist and organically integrate. This case utilizes elements such as natural reclaimed wood, local plants, time-worn antique furniture, natural gypsum wall coatings, and wood, fostering a harmonious and intimate spatial atmosphere that allows the space and its inhabitants to nourish and coexist with each other. The exposed wooden ceiling becomes a highlight of the space; these materials are sustainably sourced from the dismantling of old wooden buildings. Their surfaces are filled with traces of time, characterized by the weathering of nature, and even show holes left by insects. This not only fills the space with the marks of nature and time but also reflects a reverence and respect for natural resources. Additionally, the wooden coffee table, dining table, side cabinet in the tea room, and the tea platform are all examples of reclaimed wood and refurbished old furniture being reused, presenting a unique beauty in the space and giving these recycled materials and vintage furniture a new vitality. Furniture and decorative items crafted using local artisan techniques also inject cultural depth into the space, achieving the inheritance and continuation of local culture within a contemporary setting. Furthermore, the wall coatings are made from natural gypsum, which is sourced from nature and reduces the environmental burden of synthetic materials. Overall, this residence is a perfect blend of timeless charm and modern functionality. Through custom design and carefully selected antique furniture and sustainable materials, this home has been transformed into a timeless aesthetic residence, while at the same time it successfully highlights the extremely comfortable spatial scale and light perception.
