The Koti Hotel project, located in the charming mountainous city of Gramado, Brazil, is a masterpiece of sustainable luxury and cultural integration. Spanning 3000m², this interior design project transforms the hotel into an inviting refuge that reflects the essence of its natural and cultural surroundings. The name “Koti,” meaning “home” in Finnish, encapsulates the project’s goal: to offer guests a warm, sophisticated, and serene retreat.
Inspired by the region’s misty landscapes and majestic mountains, the design incorporates organic shapes throughout, evident in the custom woodwork, flowing plaster elements, and artistic lighting design. These features emulate the fluid movement of fog, seamlessly connecting the interiors with the picturesque outdoors. The thoughtful use of regional materials, such as locally sourced wood and natural stone, reinforces a strong connection to the environment while enhancing authenticity.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of the Koti Hotel project. Eco-friendly fabrics, crafted from recycled PET bottles, were used for upholstery, blending ecological responsibility with tactile luxury. This commitment extends to the lighting design, which employs adaptive technologies to enhance energy efficiency while creating an ambiance that evolves throughout the day.
The project expertly balances contemporary elegance with local architectural charm. Clean, modern lines are softened by warm tones and textures, creating an atmosphere that is both stylish and welcoming. The spacious layout ensures smooth transitions between communal areas and private spaces, providing a harmonious flow that enhances guest comfort.
