Changsha Refuse Incineration Power Plant Phase II,is an environmental treatment facility designed in response to the rapid increase in urban household garbage and sludge generation. With a total investment of approximately 1.99 billion, spans 104,795.45m²,the project comprises seven sludge drying production lines, four mechanical grate incineration lines, two 45MW turbine generator sets, supporting flue gas purification and wastewater treatment facilities. Upon completion and commencement of power generation in June 2021, it achieved a daily treatment capacity of 500 tons of sludge and 3,000 tons of municipal solid waste. The project's implementation has realized the full-scale incineration of municipal solid waste in the entire city, marking a new era in waste treatment in Changsha.
The architecture was undertaken by the innovative "Jingyin Design Studio”,adhering to the design concept of "Nobility in Simplicity". It aims to convey the design spirit of environmental protection and sustainable development through concise and textured architectural design. Compared to Phase I's bright colors, our architects have chosen calm fair-faced concrete cladding and glass as the main materials for Phase II, which not only reflects the environmental friendliness but also gives the building a unique artistic aesthetic. Oriented towards functionality, the design formed a unified yet varied architectural through the organic combination of six different functional volumes: unloading, storage, incineration, flue gas treatment, turbines, and control offices.
