Shenzhen No. 28 Senior High School is not just a campus—it is a new-generation school built around the Digital Knowledge Nexus, redefining the future of education with its concept of "Four Centers, Coupled and Interconnected." Located in Xinqiao, Bao’an District, the design breaks traditional boundaries to create a dynamic and forward-thinking learning ecosystem that integrates academic, social, and physical development.

At the heart of the campus, the Digital Knowledge Nexus serves as an intellectual hub, blending a library, self-study zones, seminar rooms, collaborative labs, and maker spaces. Its open, flexible design encourages interaction, with tiered reading spaces, immersive discussion areas, and adaptive learning pods that extend learning beyond classrooms. This center fosters interdisciplinary education, enabling students to engage in research, creative projects, and technological exploration.

Encircling the Digital Knowledge Nexus, the Learning Hub and Living Commons provide structured spaces for focused learning and residential life, ensuring a balanced and nurturing environment. Meanwhile, the Creative Arts-Athletics Complex, with a multifunctional gymnasium, sunken sports court, and landscaped fitness zones, promotes holistic well-being. It also includes dedicated art studios, and performance spaces, encouraging creative expression and artistic collaboration alongside physical development.

Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of the design. The campus adopts passive energy strategies, including a double-layer shading façade, optimized natural ventilation, and a rainwater collection system to improve efficiency and comfort. Photovoltaic panels, vertical greenery, and rooftop gardens enhance climate adaptability, while locally sourced, low-carbon materials minimize environmental impact. The integration of sponge city principles ensures efficient water management, reducing urban runoff and enhancing ecological resilience.

A central axis seamlessly connects the four centers, forming a cohesive, interactive learning environment. This project is more than a school—it is a sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready educational community, empowering students to explore, create, and shape the world of tomorrow.
