Ricoh’s Asia Pacific Headquarters in Singapore exemplifies an innovative, digital-first approach to workspaces, blending advanced technology with a human-centric design. By incorporating Ricoh’s digital solutions and an activity-based working (ABW) concept, the office maximizes productivity and collaboration.

The workspace is divided into four key zones: workstations, an e-Café, meeting spaces, and collaborative areas. This layout fosters flexibility, enabling employees to move seamlessly between tasks and roles. Workstations feature hotdesks equipped with a digital booking system and human sensors to optimize desk usage and reduce energy consumption. The system adjusts lighting based on activity supporting Ricoh’s sustainability goals.

The smart office concept is introduced immediately at the entrance with a digital visitor management system, enhancing the guest experience. The waiting lobby, designed with ash wood trellis and marble tiles reflects Ricoh’s corporate identity and leads into a flexible meeting zone. Operable wall panels in this space allow for quick reconfiguration accommodating various meeting styles from conferences to town hall sessions.

A key feature of the office is the interactive pantry and e-Café designed to encourage informal meetings and collaboration. With its café-like ambiance, high ceilings, neutral-toned furniture and diverse seating options the space offers a relaxed environment conducive to creativity. The e-Café also features a Ricoh Collaboration Board and projector, supporting both productivity and relaxation.

Ricoh’s commitment to its cultural identity is reflected in a striking tree-like sculpture in the collaborative area, inspired by the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay. Surrounded by greenery and natural light, this centerpiece creates a park-like atmosphere fostering creativity and team interaction.

Emphasizing flexibility, Ricoh moves away from fixed workstations, allowing employees to choose their workspace based on daily needs. This dynamic design supports both office and remote work, aligning with Ricoh’s work-life balance ethos. Flexible seating area ssuch as cluster seating with irregular tables enhance group collaboration and innovation.

The office’s integrated technology infrastructure supports these principles, providing valuable data insights for continuous optimization of the workspace. This adaptive approach ensures that the environment evolves with employees’ needs, supporting personal and team success.
