Voice of Bamboo Waves & Echoes of Bamboo Mountains

"Voice of Bamboo Waves & Echoes of Bamboo Mountains" is a project centered on environmental protection and sustainability, transforming agricultural and fishery waste from Yunlin into two lighting installations through innovative redesign. These installations symbolize Yunlin’s forests and oceans, conveying the region’s pristine landscapes and the concept of cultural coexistence.



Bamboo serves as the primary structural material, complemented by recycled elements such as oyster shells, discarded fishing nets, and agricultural mesh, turning waste into renewable art and showcasing the potential of a circular economy. By integrating lighting design with traditional bamboo weaving, the installations reveal natural textures by day and illuminate environmental awareness by night, inviting the audience to experience the rhythm of the land and the hope of regeneration.



More than just an artistic creation, this project represents an initiative that blends environmental education, cultural heritage, and social engagement. Designed collaboratively by students and faculty from YunTech and realized through participatory workshops with environmental volunteers, it encourages a deeper understanding and practical application of sustainable design.



Through this dialogue between mountains and seas, we aspire to inspire environmental consciousness and ignite new visions for a sustainable future.
