This exhibition space at NYU Langone Health’s Ambulatory Care Center in Manhasset, NY, is designed to foster healing and renewal through art and architecture. Inspired by Long Island’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and community spirit, the space integrates biophilic design principles to create a tranquil and inspiring environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals. A suspended sculpture serves as the visual centerpiece, engaging viewers from multiple perspectives.

Sustainability is a key focus, with materials selected to align with LEED Platinum certification standards, incorporating recycled metals, responsibly sourced wood, and eco-friendly resins. The project involved extensive research into therapeutic design, ensuring harmony with the medical setting while maintaining artistic integrity.

A key challenge was balancing aesthetic impact, structural integrity, and environmental responsibility, achieved through collaboration with engineers, architects, and healthcare professionals. Ultimately, this exhibition space enhances the hospital environment, providing a moment of reflection, inspiration, and emotional well-being.
