Flesh Juicer Blends Heavy Metal with Taiwanese Beliefs, Creating a Visually and Sonically Striking Universe With their distinctive heavy metal style infused with Taiwanese religious culture and diverse musical elements, Flesh Juicer has forged a uniquely immersive sonic universe. Their highly exaggerated stage movements and intensely provocative performance style have even earned their shows a cult-like reputation. Their renowned concert brand, "Building Temples and Shrines," reached a new level in this performance, where lighting design played a crucial role in shaping the spectacle.
A three-story Flesh Temple was erected on stage, with the lighting structures forming the temple’s dragon pillars. Each pillar was composed of four Wash lights, resembling intricate carvings on traditional columns. This design not only enhanced the dynamic visuals but also evoked a nostalgic aesthetic similar to traditional lanterns. The industrial-style stage, featuring an iron mesh gate, was further intensified with heavy smoke and powerful backlighting, creating a visual experience rarely seen in mainstream music performances.
The show seamlessly integrated visual elements with lighting effects. On the LED screens, the lead vocalist Gigo’s massive pig-headed figure spewed smoke from its mouth and shot piercing beams of light from its eyes, directly striking the audience. Additionally, extensive use of live cam effects layered with shifting lights and high-contrast shadows captured the performers' dramatic movements with striking intensity.
Through the fusion of lighting, visuals, music, and performance, Flesh Juicer successfully conveyed their signature "brutal, fun, and wild" spirit to everyone in attendance, immersing them in the overwhelming impact of "Building Temples and Shrines: Cosmic Prophecy."
