The Fuzhou Lanyuan Luxury Residences, spanning 40,114 square meters, stand as a residential landmark in Fuzhou. The landscape design for this development is a modern interpretation of tradition, evident in garden sequence the residents encounter. The design process was driven by three key strategies: creating a unique identity inspired by the local context; activating different scales of open spaces; and connecting the site through a seamless flow of experiences.
The landscape design of Fuzhou Lanyuan Luxury Residences crafts immersive experiences that reflect nature. This approach, rooted in local culture, offers a sense of familiarity while also encouraging discovery. Fuzhou’s historical river and three mountains embrace the site, serving as the foundation for unfolding scenic experiences based on traditional Chinese garden principles: Framing the view, Borrowing the view, Layering the view, and Highlighting the view.
The arrival courtyards, designed with clean lines, water elements, traditional trees, art, and a vistas, enhance the connection to nature by integrating views of the river and mountains into the site. Main garden has been carefully curated to offer a sequence of landscape experiences, including the River Deck, Central Meadow, and Forest Garden.
The River Deck provides breathtaking views of the river from the multi-level Garden Lounge, which is adorned with culturally inspired features and bespoke details.
The Central Meadow, with its hidden lake and floating islands, offers a unique landscape that enhances privacy and fosters a deep connection with nature. This space also accommodates clubhouse activities, creating serenity environment.
The Forest Garden not only provides shade but also bursts with colors and playful moments, all surrounded by lush vegetation that enhances the sensory experience.
Numerous existing trees have been preserved and complemented by layers of local trees, shrubs, and groundcovers, enhancing the experience of native flora. Sponge city measures have been implemented to minimize the impact on the natural riverfront environment and maintain the natural water cycle. Additionally, wind conditions and sun exposure have been carefully studied to create a refreshing and comfortable atmosphere, reducing the heat island effect and ensuring a sustainable microclimate.
