INSPIRATION:
The idea was to design a floor lamp without the standard standing position. We where looking for a new starting point and let the form of the product start from there. And while rethinking the structure, why not question materials? The unconventional use of plywood adds a nice grain.
DESCRIPTION:
Monday is a floor lamp that is tensed between floor and ceiling by means of an Ayous stick. The cylindrical part contains the fitting for the light bulb and is made of multiple pieces of plywood that are glued together. This part can be raised or lowered on the stick for the best result.
The support has to be around 3% longer than the height of the ceiling. The light fixture has to be placed on the support before it is tensed. This fixture can be changed in height by loosening the button on the back. A mirror bulb light is prefered, but others may have a different opinion. Al is well as long is it fits the E27 socket.
PRODUCTION:
The armature is made of plywood that is cut circular and glued with the flat sides together. This happens in different stages as it has to be sandpapered on the inside, connected with the cable and metal button on the back and provide the holes for the vertical support. Once this part is completely connected, it has the be sandpapered intensely and varnished. The support has a reversed T-shape. The connection of these 2 parts has to be quite strong.
DIMENSIONS:
Width 21 cm x Depth 30 cm x Height 250 cm
