2025 Taiwan Lantern Festival ╳ Pokémon Mini Lanterns

The Lantern Festival marks the first full moon after the Lunar New Year and is one of Taiwan’s most vibrant and festive traditional celebrations. For centuries, households have illuminated the night with lanterns, symbolizing the arrival of spring and the joy of reunion. In 2025, the Taiwan Lantern Festival collaborates with the officially licensed Pokémon IP, presenting a giant Snorlax installation that seamlessly blends the adorable Pokémon world with the rich traditions of the festival. To further enhance the experience, we have designed exclusive Pokémon-themed mini lanterns, available for free on-site, allowing visitors of all ages to carry their own uniquely designed lanterns and illuminate the night alongside the giant Snorlax!

Since its debut in 1996, Pokémon has captivated fans across generations through video games, animation, manga, and trading card games, remaining a global phenomenon for nearly 30 years. This specially designed Pokémon Mini Lantern Project embraces the concept of merging tradition with technology, incorporating innovative details that not only revive the nostalgic joy of assembling DIY lanterns but also ensure that participants from different generations and cultural backgrounds can fully immerse themselves in the festival. The lantern features a star-shaped design, symbolizing the twinkling night sky of the Lantern Festival, while its artwork fuses iconic Pokémon characters with traditional festive elements, creating a strong Lunar New Year atmosphere. Equipped with interchangeable accessories and an interactive QR code tutorial, users can assemble the lantern in six different styles—whether as a neck pendant, handheld lantern, hanging ornament, or even a mini nightlight—offering a one-of-a-kind Pokémon interactive experience that has captured the hearts of both children and adults, making it a standout highlight of the festival!
