Fingertopia is an innovative rehabilitation solution tailored for cerebral palsy children during fine motor skill training, integrating medical science, gamification and IoT technologies. Targeting 5-9-year-olds with basic mobility, it addresses their psychological traits like attention dispersion and environmental sensitivity through a tripartite system combining hardware toys, software games, and a data platform.
The hardware employs modular components simulating real-life scenarios (seeds, mushrooms, saplings), using force feedback sensors and MediaPipe image recognition to track 21 motor parameters. The Unity-powered "Fingertip Forest" narrative game transforms children into forest guardians, completing rehabilitation actions through level-based missions (planting, mushroom harvesting, tree nurturing), with dynamic difficulty algorithms ensuring ability-adapted training intensity. Multimodal interaction combines therapeutic art styles, real-time growth animations, and positive audio feedback to sustain engagement.
The family-hospital synergy system features a parent APP with training guides and personalized logs, while clinicians access 3D assessment reports via Python analytics integrating grip curves, task duration and emotional data. A patented "stealth monitoring" mechanism embeds data collection into gameplay to avoid resistance. Social elements like DIY badge creation and future collaborative levels enhance therapeutic connections.
By combining gamified motivation, medical-grade data loops, and home-environment adaptability, Fingertopia transcends traditional rehabilitation constraints, delivering scientifically rigorous yet compassionate support aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals for health equity.
