Chenzhou Culture and Art Center

The project is located in the new city center of Dongcheng District, Chenzhou City, and consists of a museum, a group art center and a science and technology museum.



The building complex is wedged into the site in a form full of power and sculptural sense. The architectural forms composed of solid walls and curtain walls interlock and interweave with each other, like huge "ores" broken by some gushing power, rooted in the earth. The design uses changes such as segmentation, folding, cracking of the form, combined with the square platform and entrance passage as well as the change of height difference to form a kind of earth sculpture created by natural forces, releasing a special spatial tension of the building.



The architecture combines the topographical features of Chenzhou City with the architectural layout, shaping an architectural image with regional cultural and artistic characteristics, achieving an organic combination of man and nature, architecture and landscape, and becoming the image symbol of Chenzhou as a "mining city", thereby awakening people's sense of identity with urban space culture.
