The “Era of Human Intelligence – Third Jinan International Biennial Exhibition” explores the evolving relationship between humans and technology through the lens of contemporary art. Held at both the Shandong Art Museum and the Jinan Art Museum, the exhibition features 291 works by 215 artists from 21 countries and regions. The curatorial narrative focuses not just on artificial intelligence itself, but on how AI reshapes human creativity, identity, and perception of the future. Ruguan, participating for the third consecutive time, designed the spatial experience using a “four-dimensional” approach: rational spatial planning, aesthetic atmosphere creation, emotional storytelling, and audience interactivity. The design avoids a purely technological or abstract aesthetic, instead emphasizing reflection on human existence in a high-tech context. The spatial design aims to evoke imagination, offering visitors a poetic and immersive journey that navigates both real and virtual dimensions. Materials like reflective films, light-storage stickers, and mirror finishes were applied to buildings and exhibition halls to express technological metaphors. These material interventions not only suggest the fluid boundary between the physical and digital but also enhance the sensory interaction between space and audience. The museum’s facade was wrapped in a symbolic "cover," inviting viewers to step into a new era. Nine themed exhibition halls guide the audience through a series of spatial universes—each offering different artistic languages and experiences. New categories such as performance art, land art, and film art were introduced, enriching the exhibition’s diversity. Installations juxtapose natural and industrial elements to express contrasts between countryside and city, humanity and machine. The exhibition presents art as a dynamic medium growing within uncertain technological change, encouraging viewers to contemplate the coexistence of art, nature, and innovation. Through cross-disciplinary engagement and cultural exchange, the exhibition imagines a future shaped by balance, creativity, and deeply rooted human values.
