This 122-square-meter residence draws poetic inspiration from the classic fairy tale The Little Match Girl. Like a match struck in the dark, the home glows with layers of warmth and imagination—its gentle light guiding us from the hearth’s comfort to the aroma of shared meals, and finally to the tender vision of a grandmother stepping through the door. Here, “home” symbolizes a space where every inch can be illuminated by the glow of hope, a reminder to cherish the hard-won happiness of the present moment. To express this vision, the design pairs expansive windows with soft sheer curtains, allowing sunlight to cascade indoors and create a bright, uplifting atmosphere. The open-plan layout enhances movement and interaction, offering a spacious, nurturing environment for the couple’s two children and their cat. At the same time, it serves as a peaceful retreat for the homeowners—a pair of restaurateurs with a bustling work life. Infused with a sense of hope and tranquility, the home quietly fulfills the belief that “all efforts will eventually bloom as warmly as a match.”
The entrance hall captivates visitors with its exquisite stone floor, suspended shoe cabinets, and an elegantly mirrored wall, all of which establish a truly enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of a fairy tale. Additionally, the entrance is beautifully enhanced by tree-inspired landscaping, which artfully combines a cat jump platform, a stylish shoe bench, and display features that seamlessly blend elegance with practicality. Transitioning into the main area, one will notice that the TV wall impresses with its striking interplay of deep gray and misty black tones. Here, traditional French-style wall lines converge with a virtual fireplace, creating a captivating artistic ambiance that exudes a soothing presence throughout the space.
In the heart of the home, the dining table and island are thoughtfully integrated, featuring a hidden induction cooktop. This design not only merges culinary functionality with aesthetic appeal but also fosters heartwarming family moments that enhance the overall living experience.
