The Rebirth of Traditional Art

Against the backdrop of accelerated transformation of the global cultural and creative industries, the sustainable development of traditional crafts faces a double challenge. UNESCO (2022) states that 43 per cent of traditional crafts are on the verge of extinction due to their inability to adapt to the modern market. ‘Rebirth of Traditional Arts’ is an art jewellery collection created by the design team led by Haoyu Sun (Aurora Sun), Artistic Director of Aurora Art Ltd, London. Based on the team's fashion branding and international curatorial experience, the collection is dedicated to exploring the innovative application of jade carving, pompom, and glazing crafts in the contemporary fashion The collection is dedicated to exploring the innovative application of jade carving, pompom, glaze and other crafts in contemporary fashion and building sustainable commercial products. The design is inspired by the classic paintings of Van Gogh and Monet, reproducing the sense of colour and flow through the form of jewellery. Each product is meticulously created by designers and craftsmen, starting from a complete piece of raw stone polished, a natural silk thread lined... The set took six months to complete. The ‘Rebirth of Traditional Art’ series demonstrates the perfect combination of art and craftsmanship through the fusion of modern jewellery design and traditional craftsmanship, inheriting cultural heritage and innovative design.
