Amid the rapid rise of the efficacy-driven skincare market and the surging demand for professional solutions among sensitive skin consumers, Dr. Yu—an outstanding homegrown brand with two decades of expertise in skin barrier recovery—is translating medical research into locally-adapted innovations. Through a comprehensively upgraded packaging system, it improves its product value and brand image across multiple dimensions.
For this upgrade, Dr. Yu develops a minimalistic medical-inspired visual identity system. The packaging, inspired by prescription pads, employs structured grid lines and functional color blocks to create visual hierarchy, highlighting the product’s efficacy on ‘professional recovery’ and conveying the concept of ‘co-creation between medical experts and research institutions’. This allows consumers to intuitively perceive the professionalism and medical credibility of the product. In terms of color selection, ‘Reassuring Green’, a low-saturation Morandi color commonly used for medical design, evokes a feeling of peace; pure white, a symbol of professionalism, triggers associations with trustworthiness, science-backed efficacy, and safety, precisely aligning with consumer psychology.
The packaging exemplifies a seamless integration of functional practicality and sustainability. The pump head with a 3cm² ultra-wide curved surface offers a comfortable grip, and ensures precise dispensing even with wet hands, significantly improving convenience of use. The modular pump replaces traditional metal springs with plastic, facilitating easier recycling by using the same material. Advanced short-stroke control technology limits the single dispensing amount to ≤0.3ml, minimizing waste without compromising practicality. Moreover, the packaging utilizes the upgraded replaceable inner cartridge to further enhance environmental friendliness, with each bottle reducing plastic consumption by up to 82%, establishing a closed-loop green packaging ecosystem. This not only effectively propels resource conservation, but also encourages rational consumption and low-carbon lifestyles, helping users foster more environmentally responsible daily habits.
