Peiyou International Banquet Center is located in Baoying, a culturally rich ancient county in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. With a total floor area of 22,000 square meters, the project serves as a hospitality landmark designed for both grand-scale wedding banquets and more intimate dining experiences. It integrates ceremonial grandeur with contemporary aesthetics, bringing together cultural heritage and modern elegance.
The core design concept is defined by a romantic and luxurious tone. A warm coffee-gold palette sets the atmosphere for celebration and refinement, while the spatial narrative draws deeply from local culture. Inspired by Baoying’s identity as the “Land of Lotus and Roots,” the design abstractly reinterprets lotus elements throughout the interior. In the main lobby, lotus forms unfold across the ceiling, floor, and walls, while a large digital screen immerses guests in poetic visuals: “The gifted beauty of Baoying, the scent of lotus bestowed by nature.” Columns in public areas are stylized into vertical lotus leaves, evoking the scene of a lotus pond in midsummer.
Each functional space is meticulously tailored. The grand ballroom emphasizes axial balance, layered lighting, and mirrored surfaces to enhance ceremonial experience. VIP dining rooms feature soft acoustics, rich textures, and elegant privacy. Public corridors and lounges act as sensory transitions, using warm gradients and regional patterns to connect each space emotionally and visually.
A primary challenge in the design process was blending traditional Chinese symbolism with a modern sense of light luxury. The solution was to distill cultural elements into abstract, contemporary expressions—ensuring the space felt fresh, timeless, and rooted in context. Material innovation played a key role: sintered stone was used in place of traditional marble, and carbon crystal panels replaced wood finishes, achieving cost efficiency, durability, and environmental sensitivity.
Sustainability was an integral part of the design strategy. The use of eco-conscious materials and efficient construction techniques minimized environmental impact while maintaining visual and functional excellence.
The design offers a poetic interpretation of place, memory, and celebration. It creates a culturally resonant, emotionally immersive environment where every detail—from lighting to layout—reinforces the space’s identity.
