Petit Rond seating
Originally designed, in late 2020, for a specific, raw and warn, room – a “Juice-gallery” in southern Denmark for which I made the whole interior-design – “Petit Rond” chair is certainly thought from an architectural point of view.
Monolithic in its expression, made entirely from stainless steel, the chair appears simple, light, humble and clear and will contrast to most surroundings. Furthermore, this single-materiality allows the chair to be used outside as well as inside.
Circular, slim, stackable and with a small footprint the chair is easy to pass by and handle.
Petit Rond Chairs and Stools are well suited to be placed in cafés, bars, restaurants, workplaces, homes, and settings where flexibility is essential—in any square footage, even very minimal ones.
Coincidentally the Copenhagen manufacturer FRAMA in Dec. 2023 discovered the chair during a visit in my studio and through 2024 we have together finished the last few details for industrial, serial production. FRAMA launched “Petit Rond” June the 19th, 2025.
Petit Rond Chair and Stool are almost human in their familiar forms and offer an unexpected, high comfort for their size and material. When seated, one of the most noticeable qualities is that the back and seat of the chair are carefully placed and shaped to provide essential support while maintaining the slimmest profile possible.
The chair and stool are, optionally, available with a leather-seat.
Troels Grum-Schwensen, Architect and Designer, June the 23th, 2025.
