Landscape design of Jinlin Mansion

Jinlin Mansion, located in Pengzhou’s Peony New City, stands as a shining gem within the urban fabric, distinguished by its unique design philosophy and meticulously crafted landscape. Drawing inspiration from the Ming Dynasty scholar Wen Zhenheng’s Chang Wu Zhi (Treatise on Superfluous Things), the project embraces the ideal that “the finest dwellings are those nestled among mountains and waters.” It thoughtfully creates a spatial sequence known as the “Seven Entrances – Nine Scenes,” offering a layered and subtly shifting journey through landscape and architecture.
The experience begins at the grand and dignified Jinlin Gate, leading into the elegant Liuli Water Courtyard. Its crystal-clear reflecting pool harmonizes with the refined garden surroundings, unfolding like a living scroll beneath one’s footsteps. Moving forward, the Homeward Corridor guides residents through a play of natural and artificial light, creating a poetic atmosphere that invites contemplation and lingers in memory.
Further along, the lush Tea Pavilion provides a tranquil space for rest and reflection. Here, one may pause to enjoy a cup of tea while taking in the serene scenery. A leisurely walk through tree-lined paths reveals changing vistas—each turn offers a new perspective, a fresh encounter with nature’s beauty.
As dusk descends, the Stellar Playground comes alive, transforming into a joyful haven for children and a gathering place for families. Illuminated by imaginative lighting design, the area evokes the vastness of a starry sky, enhancing nighttime vibrancy and adding an aura of enchantment to the neighborhood.
