About The Entry

Recent small-scale developments have shown a shift from conventional, standardized, profit-oriented plot divisions to proposals that respect community among residents and include shared spaces at the center of the block. However, in most of these cases, it seems that prioritizing shared areas often leads to a lower priority for privacy. Ideally, it is desirable to have a balanced existence of places that foster interaction among residents and spaces where each household can spend peaceful time. Therefore, this planning site was conceived with a good balance between the community zone and the private zone in mind. Specifically, it is proposed as a residential development consisting of three plots centered around a symbol tree and a wooden deck. Through careful arrangement of buildings, car spaces, and landscaping, the community zone and the private zone are clearly separated. The wooden deck under the large tree connects the three plots, naturally encouraging resident interaction, while the private gardens offer a comfortable sense of distance, allowing for peaceful and relaxed moments. By having two gardens that can be used according to their mood, residents can cultivate neighborly relationships in a "Ki-mama" (carefree and at ease) lifestyle. Regarding the two extremes of community and privacy, choosing and proposing one over the other might be clearer to potential buyers. However, both are essential for achieving a comfortable life, and a balanced existence is ideal. In this plan, by concluding a land use agreement, we created a comfortable shared space utilizing the "Central Deck" and "Wind Path," among others, and a "Rest Garden" making effective use of the blank space or margin of over 165㎡ of land area. This plan, which clearly zones these areas through building arrangement and landscaping, is an unprecedented challenge among residential developments with shared land.
