XINSHENG SOUTH ROAD URBAN REGENERATION RESIDENCE TAIPEI

Located at the intersection of two major green lungs—Daan Forest Park and Lianyun Park—the Xinsheng South Road Urban Regeneration Residence reimagines vertical living in the heart of Taipei. This residential renewal project occupies a rare ecological seam within the city, where dense urban fabric meets natural continuity. Through a series of cascading terraces, vertical greenery, and an open, porous interface with the street, the design forms a living facade that breathes with the city.
The architectural massing responds to its surrounding view corridors, creating a stepped skyline that balances privacy, openness, and ecological integration. Each level features private balconies that extend daily life outward, while the uppermost floors host sky gardens and shared terraces—offering spaces for retreat, social connection, and panoramic views of the city and surrounding parks.
At ground level, the building recesses to create a public edge: a green plaza and café space foster a welcoming, walkable, and community-centered environment. Vertical fins and sun-shading devices soften the boundary between inside and out, filtering light and enhancing thermal comfort.
The project presents a contemporary interpretation of urban dwelling—one that connects residents with nature, neighbors, and the broader rhythm of the city. With its layered façade, refined material palette, and ecological sensibility, the residence promotes a new model of compact, vertical, and human-centered living in Taipei. It is both a home and a habitat: a calm green threshold between the fast pace of the city and the restorative cadence of everyday life.
