Jingdezhen Taoxichuan Decibel Entertainment Recording Studio

In the course of Jingdezhen’s urban renewal, the Taoxichuan International Ceramic Culture Industrial Park has become a vital hub for culture and creativity. Its music sector, centered on the recording studio and integrating local academies with external resources, has fostered a unique model of industry-education collaboration, transforming the renovated Yuzhou Porcelain Factory into a venue for cultural innovation and artistic creation.
The design concept emphasizes the contrast between strong spatial visuals and serene acoustics. The main studio adopts irregular wall structures and non-orthogonal corners, with patented polygonal spiral acoustic panels laser-carved into translucent forms, echoing the elegance of traditional ceramic art known as Linglong. The auxiliary studio mirrors the triangular roofline of the original factory, with lofty lines and acoustic walls that extend the industrial character into the interior space.
To overcome the challenges of factory renovation, the team created a room within a room structure. A wet-floating floor system effectively addresses resonance and sound isolation, while lightweight structural engineering ensures stable acoustic performance. High-elasticity polyester finishes, combined with renewable OSB wood and paulownia, enrich the space with warmth and harmonic depth.
Sustainability lies at the core of material and structural choices: composite renewable wood, polyester fibers, and energy-efficient room-in-room insulation deliver a low-carbon, eco-friendly environment. Supported by advanced HVAC systems, the recording studio not only meets international acoustic standards but also exemplifies a green cultural space for the future.
