The project is located in Jinan, a city renowned for its springs and thriving due to its water resources, with its urban fabric and spiritual temperament deeply rooted in its hydrological environment. The poetic description, “Lotus flowers on four sides, willows on three, with mountains coloring the city and a lake occupying half,” is not only a lyrical portrayal but also a true reflection of the interplay between local natural ecology and cultural life. This project is grounded in these local characteristics, transforming the concept of “lakeside living” into a tangible lifestyle. Through a “channeling water into the garden” design strategy, the scarce lake-view resources are converted into a continuous, flowing spatial narrative within the community, enabling residents to engage authentically with nature daily, beyond mere observation.
The design benchmarks the artistic spatial standards and bespoke service concepts found in global high-end residential projects, yet it does not blindly adopt Western paradigms. Instead, it integrates the minimalist aesthetics of Eastern courtyards with modern functionalism, creating a lakeside community that is both culturally profound and aligned with contemporary lifestyles. We believe that “nature itself is the ultimate luxury”, and thus the relationship between architecture and the waterfront is not one of opposition but of symbiosis, water is not merely a visual element but a core carrier of emotional regulation, social interaction, and sensory experience.
The overall landscape structure revolves around the theme of “Imperial Lake Realm,” divided into three layers: the Ceremonial Stream (a grand entrance), the Homecoming Realm (a daily comfort zone), and the Lake Heart Realm (a private healing space). These are embedded with seven specific scenes: the hotel lobby, the Tree King Courtyard, the Jade Belt Stream, the Floating Island Water Platform, the Four Seasons Courtyard, the Whispering Woods Lounge, and the Coffee Book Bar. These spaces connect seamlessly with a clear rhythm, forming a logical flow from external to internal, public to private, catering to the diverse needs of residents at different times.
