GUANGHUA INTERCITY RAILWAY JINGXI ROAD STATION

Jingxi Road Station is positioned with “Scientific and Technological Innovation Engine · Hub Gateway” as its core concept, and adheres to the design philosophy of a “simple, efficient, and convenient future-oriented station.” Focusing on the dual attributes of regional industrial upgrading and transportation hub, it integrates spatial, technological, and artistic strategies to create an underground transportation hub that combines functionality, technological appeal, and regional characteristics.
The design centers on “vertical release,” maximizing the height of the concourse and platform through the “exposed original civil construction ceiling technique” to construct an open and efficient vertical spatial system, thereby optimizing the transfer flow experience. The spatial interface employs a combination of “uniform modular aluminum panels + linear light strips,” using contrast between solid and void and flowing rhythms to guide passengers in orderly dispersal, alleviate the sense of oppression in narrow spaces, and enhance transparency and wayfinding.
Coloration is based on “minimalist white,” with localized accents of route identification colors to strengthen recognizability. Paired with an anti-glare ambient lighting system, uniform and soft light control shapes a clean, technological, and futuristic spatial atmosphere, balancing functionality and visual comfort.
Materials and construction follow low-carbon principles, utilizing prefabricated and reversible installation techniques to reduce post-maintenance loads. Wayfinding signs, Passenger Information Systems (PIS), surveillance cameras, and other equipment are integrated with the main interior decoration, achieving a “zero-disruption” maintenance model to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
The atrium area features the themed art installation “Convergence·Connection,” combining column arrays and light grid matrices to visually express the three-dimensional intersection relationship between the Guangzhou-Huadu Intercity Railway and the planned Lines 26 and 29, thereby strengthening the station’s landmark image as a regional transportation gateway.
Jingxi Road Station translates district-specific features such as the big health industry, smart healthcare, and ecological livability into spatial language, creating an underground space with the breathable feel of a “City’s Lung” and the dynamism of technological innovation. It has emerged as a distinctive gateway along Guangzhou’s Northern Sci-Tech Corridor.
