Located on Luoxi Island, a pivotal node along Guangzhou’s urban axis, CENTRAL THRONE is designed as a high-end residential showcase. Anchored in the design ethos “Five Odes to the Boundless·Six Isles of Homecoming,” the project distills the refined aesthetics of Aman Resorts in Greece, creating Guangzhou’s first paradigm for an urban micro-island lifestyle.
Through an immersive journey of “Three Isles of Homecoming,” the design derives its sensory narrative from “Five Odes to the Boundless,” creating a shift in mood and linking nature’s diversity with inner peace. Landscape and storytelling merge to enhance the experience while reinforcing identity.
Scene I – Essence Arrival
A 26-meter ceremonial wall defines a grand urban threshold. Art glass with a jade-like texture creates an elegant translucent screen, while the intricately patterned stone plaza evokes the ambiance of a five-star arrival. At its heart, a black crystal water plate—reminiscent of the ancient bi-disc (ceremonial jade) that symbolizes safety and harmony—shimmers with star-green veins, blending tranquility, auspicious charm, and a quiet sense of rooted identity into the entry sequence.
Scene II – Aquatic Couture Theatre
Inspired by CHANEL’s aquatic runways, mirrored waters reflect the crystalline Light Tower and rippling waves, creating an immersive stage. At the center, the transparent tower faces the grounded Tea Pavilion—a play of light and solidity. This balance of movement and stillness evokes Yin-Yang harmony, inviting pause, visual appreciation, and social interaction.
Scene III – Heart of the Isle
The cantilevered Tea Pavilion floats like a glowing amber jewel box, its glazed facade embodying centuries of craftsmanship in a luminous glow. Inspired by Aman’s sacred tree courtyards, the Tree Theatre centers on a grand hackberry whose canopy cascades like a verdant throne. Framed by mirror pools and a curtain of trees, this sanctuary invites rest, reflection, and deep emotional resonance—anchoring the brand’s philosophy of soulful placemaking.
