The project, located at Taoyuan International Airport’s Terminal 2 C5 lounge, draws on herbal culture as its theme. Reinterpreting the well-known imagery of Dihua Street’s apothecaries, the design avoids mimicry of the past and instead presents a contemporary showcase. Features include a plant wall, the Herbal Ecology Pillar, interactive devices, and aromatic diffusion, offering passengers a modern reinterpretation of Taiwan’s botanical traditions.
The central column serves as the anchor: on one side, static displays contrast Eastern and Western herbal traditions through visuals and herb jars; on the other, an AI herbalist simulates pulse diagnosis and playfully prescribes music or scents.
The result is a waiting lounge that seamlessly combines cultural depth and technological interactivity—a space where travelers can rest comfortably while forming lasting cultural memories that reflect Taiwan’s subtle charm and identity.
