The Greentown Guiyu Lanting Life Aesthetics Pavilion, located in Wenjiang District, Chengdu, covers 500 m² and serves a dual function: initially as a sales center and, later, as a permanent residential lobby. Positioned at the northern gateway of the community, it is designed not only as a functional space but also as a cultural landmark that integrates natural inspiration with contemporary architectural innovation.
The design is inspired by the magnolia flower, symbolizing purity, resilience, and elegance. Its soft curves and layered petals are abstracted into architectural language, giving the Pavilion its distinctive sculptural form. The façade unfolds like a blooming magnolia, while the interior layout adopts a centripetal structure inspired by the flower’s core, ensuring openness, rhythm, and spatial harmony. Skylights and carefully considered light paths simulate the shifting play of natural light on petals throughout the day, creating a serene and poetic atmosphere.
Each functional area carries the floral theme throughout. The reception features a custom magnolia-inspired chandelier, while the model display base resembles a blooming flower. The lounge integrates floral installations with bespoke furniture that abstract petal forms. Decorative details—including carved magnolia reliefs in Niker Stone, petal-shaped furnishings, and blossom-like lighting fixtures—enhance the spatial storytelling and merge art with hospitality.
Material selection reinforces the design concept. Niker Stone provides a tactile, natural quality; sintered stone ensures durability and continuity; stainless steel adds precision and reflective qualities; and metallic film creates dynamic light effects. Together, they reinterpret the magnolia’s gentle whites, soft pinks, and fresh greens within a refined contemporary palette.
Sustainability is embedded in every aspect. Eco-friendly materials such as Niker Stone and sintered stone reduce environmental impact. LED lighting and intelligent control systems optimize energy efficiency. Modular prefabrication and advanced parametric modeling were employed to resolve construction challenges of the magnolia’s complex curved surfaces, ensuring both precision and feasibility.
The project delivers a multi-sensory experience where nature’s elegance meets modern technology, offering visitors a preview of future living while seamlessly integrating aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability into a timeless architectural statement.
