Shueisha Games’ mission is “Bringing the Radiance of Raw Gems to the World.” As a company that bridges publishing and gaming, we create, nurture, and globally expand titles that fuse manga, anime, and interactive entertainment. Our office design was carefully conceived to embody the essence of a modern game company, strengthening brand image both internally and externally. The goal is to reflect our mission, spark creativity through exposure to diverse stimuli, and encourage open, active discussions among employees.
The overarching design concept is “Playfulness.” This value is expressed through distinctive signs and color schemes unique to Shueisha Games. The environment fosters the creation of new works through the dynamic exchange of people, books, and information. Flexibility is central: the space continuously adapts to changes, enabling employees to “play” and explore ideas in their own ways. To achieve this, we introduced multipurpose features such as adjustable items that move along floor lines and wall-to-wall shelving for magazines, toys, and other recreational objects inspiring interaction.
At the entrance, black and white brand colors establish a neutral foundation, allowing products, visuals, and visitors to stand out vividly and leave a lasting impression. In contrast, the workspace integrates seven distinct colors across floors, walls, and furniture, producing a vibrant yet coordinated atmosphere. Wall shelving displays books and manga not only as decoration but also as ongoing sources of visual stimulation, inspiring fresh ideas, narratives, and creative inspirations.
The office is designed to generate excitement for visitors while offering employees an environment infused with asobigokoro—a spirit of playfulness that evolves over time. This spirit manifests in diverse ways: events hosted in the lounge, collaborative meetings with external partners, interviews with prospective hires, and recreational objects placed thoughtfully on shelves. Planting boxes feature character goods in corresponding hues, while signatures of designers and voice actors mark the entrance, leaving a tangible sense of creative presence.
Ultimately, the Shueisha Games office is more than a workplace. It is a dynamic, playful hub that continues to grow, showcasing the company’s mission while encouraging employees and visitors alike to discover new value through interaction, creativity, and imagination.
