The Qianhai Harbour Overpass (T6 Overpass) is located in the Qianhai Free Trade Zone of Shenzhen, connecting the natural and urban interfaces on both sides of Binhai Avenue. It serves as a convenient passage linking leisure green spaces with residential areas and schools, and is also the first pedestrian overpass seen when entering the Qianhai area from Binhai Avenue.
The overpass has a total length of 173 meters, with a main span of 67 meters and an average width of 8 meters. The main body adopts a double-layer truss structure, with the truss height ranging from 4.75 to 8.8 meters. The unique location endows T6 with a special role as a gateway landmark, while also raising the design goal of being people-oriented and achieving a humane connection between nature and daily life.
The design fully considers the relationship between the 16.8-meter platform and Guiwan Park. Based on the structural constraints of large spans under the existing conditions, the truss structure was cleverly chosen to resolve the height difference between the 16-meter platform and the normal overpass deck level. Residents above the platform can reach the second-level deck through a gentle ramp, and cross the avenue via a vertical circulation system. At the same time, the top of the truss functions as a canopy, forming a continuous shaded space throughout the overpass, adapting to the subtropical climate and fully reflecting the design concept of aligning function with structural logic.
The southern end of the overpass extends into Guiwan Park, forming an open viewing terrace that provides residents with a new elevated perspective of the park. Sun-shading louvers are set between the trusses, creating a semi-transparent interface, while partial openings at the roof bring in daylight, realizing vertical flow and spatial communication.
