"Sediment" is an interactive installation that writes with the memory of land. Layers of sand, silt, and carbonate, compressed over time, form a shifting terrain where human and geological cultures intersect, collide, and intertwine. The work visualizes satellite views of extraction sites as scripts of appropriation, where colonial letterforms emerge from the contours of eroded ground and the absence of minerals. Within a perforated geological brochure designed to slot into an urban sand table, architectural silhouettes rise and recede with each insertion, echoing the oscillation between resource and ruin. As pages are placed, a real-time projection beneath the surface collapses with touch. The interaction process stages the transaction between rock and shelter, revealing how geological matter becomes habitation and estate. These sediments speak briefly before dissolving, inviting recognition of our entanglement in the strata of culture and earth.
