Situated within a newly built residential complex, the project benefits from generous building spacing and expansive window openings that invite abundant natural daylight into the interior. The client's desire to anchor the space around a cherished artwork became the starting point of the design narrative. Responding to the painting’s tonal character, we formulated a palette of browns, whites, and grays—each paired with distinct material textures to introduce refined layers of detail. Together, these hues establish a composed, understated atmosphere while shaping the functional volumes that define the spatial experience.
A subtle dialogue emerges between the ceiling plane and the wall-integrated elements through the recurring use of curved geometries. Once the functional requirements were consolidated, each architectural component stands independently yet maintains a poised presence within the composition. Although the wall features serve different purposes, the arc motif visually binds them into a cohesive whole. The ceiling, articulated through varying heights in response to spatial scale and mechanical constraints, extends horizontally with soft curvature. Whether recessed or intersecting, its transitions preserve a balanced relationship with the vertical elements.
The spatial layout adheres to the original floor plan and window orientation. With the functional framework established, layered materials and tonal gradations were introduced to resonate with the artwork’s atmosphere, ultimately crafting a spatial identity that is both distinctive and deeply connected to the project’s narrative origin.
