Colors of life

Life is a colorful process filled with various experiences. A wonderful and colorful life can be made if every experience represents a color and pieces it together. Land as the canvas and light as the ink to create a conversation between light and land. Drones gather together and build up to three rotating circles, representing the start of life, everything connected to us, and dying with no regrets, respectively. Diamond stands for the shape of life. We need to be taken care of when we are born and we face the same situation when we get old. The whole process is like a diamond- the start and the end both return to the same place. The start button denotes that life can always be full of energy, enabling us to spread wings and fly. There are 400 lights on the land, arranging in line with the topography and the surroundings are dyed with light. These display the theme- colors of life in nature by using the environment as the canvas and light as the ink. There are drones on the “sky”, light on the “land” and “people” passing by, forming the harmony of “heaven, earth, and man”. We encountered three difficulties when building up the site. All works were displayed outside, so weather played an important role in the site setting. On rainy days, muddy puddles slowed down people’s movement, decreasing the efficiency. Apart from that, we also needed to make sure that everything was on track, preventing the equipment from getting wet and ensuring the safety of workers. These enhanced the difficulties of setting up on rainy days. Second, the combination of light and topography. Beisianghu park in Chiayi was a grand park. All works needed to be enlarged so that they wouldn’t look very tiny. During the process, we kept discussing and thinking about the size and the form of all works, hoping to display our works in combination with the topography and naturally show their beauty, instead of creating artificial lines.
