The hair salon "WESTORY" is a wooden one-story building planned in the suburbs of Moriyama Ward, which is located about 30 minutes by car from the center of Nagoya city. This site was originally a field, and the land was filled up to the height of the front road, and the site created was a green zone on the slope. The parking lot is made of crushed stone to create a more natural hair salon.

If a hair salon that receives a lot of natural light relies on blinds for all light shielding, the design of the interior space becomes thin and closed. The roof of this building is a single-flow roof and extends partially to the south ground line.
The wall, which is an extension from the diagonally cut roof, provides a direct light shield to the interior space, and provides a facade that gives a partial view of the interior. The entrance is lighted from the covered wall and the opening in the roof, and the shading lifts the shape of the building.

By setting up a small courtyard of 1.65m x 2.73m in the center of the cut booth, it was possible to divide the flow line of the space. The greening of this courtyard is reflected in the self-supporting mirror, creating a connection with the external greening, creating a space where soft natural light can be inserted.

Wooden base materials were used for the walls, roof base, and furniture finish to integrate the design elements of the architecture, interior space, and furniture. In addition, by treating the details in a very simple manner, the function was made more surface and the form was expressed purely. The bookshelf designed on the wall was made by attaching a wooden backing material to the wall and pulling the books on both sides with rubber tubes to prevent them from falling. By replacing and designing the power of these materials as a function to the maximum extent, it plays a role in the strength of the space.
