The homeowner enjoys hand-brewed coffee, so the kitchen is centered around a fully equipped, smoothly operated kitchen island that allows the daily act of brewing to naturally become the rhythm of the home. To let daylight serve as the best extraction medium, the social area adopts an open plan, allowing light to flow freely and create a sense of transparency and breathability.
The designer selected a light-toned palette to infuse the space with a soft, luminous filter, making the home feel more open and clear. Material expression strikes a balanced dialogue between stone and wood: the dining area features warm, understated wood with delicate texture, while the herringbone flooring adds subtle detail; the living room uses stone with minimized lines, letting its natural veining become the visual focus, pure and composed.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the space lies in the layered application and continuity of wood grain across different scales. Rather than treating wood as a singular decorative element, the designer positioned it as a background language that runs throughout daily life, extending from the social into the private area. Storage cabinetry adopts warm wood finishes as its primary façade, softening its visual presence and allowing functionality to recede quietly from view. Underfoot, the herringbone wood flooring introduces subtle directional changes, adding rhythm to the space and guiding everyday circulation through movement.
The kitchen island serves as the core setting for this wood-grain narrative. The homeowner’s daily coffee ritual—brewing, waiting, and sipping—unfolds calmly atop the wooden countertop, accompanied by natural light and the tactile presence of wood textures. This same material language continues into the master bedroom, where the built-in daybed reinforces a sense of rest that goes beyond function, creating a gently enveloping environment for relaxation.
