The design for this renovated building aims to bring a sense of healing and romance to the heart of Shanghai. The structure, originally an abandoned house, has been transformed into a vibrant and expressive space. The design maintains the original framework of the building while reimagining the exterior façade with a fresh, fashionable atmosphere that reflects the cultural heritage of Eastern traditions. The design is centered around a theme of love, symbolized through a carefully chosen palette of pink and white, which invokes warmth, tenderness, and purity—emotions closely associated with romantic relationships and new beginnings.
The use of circular arches throughout the building enhances the overall sense of inclusivity and harmony, acting as a bridge connecting hearts and symbolizing the perfection of love. The playful arrangement of arched doors, windows, columns, and furniture creates an atmosphere that invites warmth and healing. The rounded forms complement the building’s romantic aesthetic, giving it a sense of softness and embrace. On the facade, a rainbow-colored fire ladder reflects the healing atmosphere, with colors that shift across the spectrum, creating a vibrant and calming presence.
In this bustling metropolis, this design introduces a gentle and rounded form that stands as a beacon of love and warmth amidst the chaos. The combination of architectural lines, color choices, and atmospheric touches showcases the romance, beauty, and commitment of love. The space acts as a sanctuary, offering a sense of peace and reassurance in an otherwise fast-paced city. Its design stands as a symbol of hope and love, particularly in times of social anxiety, declining marriage rates, and evolving societal norms.
Through meticulous craftsmanship, the designer achieved an iconic exterior renovation with minimal structural changes. The use of three-layer tempered glass for the windows ensures energy efficiency, while the flexible furniture design increases the space's utility and adaptability. The project perfectly balances modernity and tradition, creating a space that resonates with the emotional significance of marriage and love.
