Ra Ra Room

Stirring within the PHX Sports Arena behind a single nondescript door lies the opulent Ra Ra Room, a lounge worthy of Jay Gatsby.
Guests who are granted entry are immediately immersed in the sultry environs of an illicit club inspired by the Art Deco era. Warm light suffuses throughout the room, reflected in the rich architectural details and glimmering metallic finishes. From concealed sources above, a soft graze illuminates the artwork, layering another dimension of warmth and drawing the eye deeper into the space.
The bar’s radiance anchors the room, while the grazed columns and illuminated drapery create rhythm and depth around it. Rays of light emanate from the bar’s dramatic centerpiece chandelier, racing along the gleaming facets of the sunburst ceiling crown. Through mockups and beam studies, fixtures were precisely calibrated so light never lands in the guest’s sightline and hotspot reflections off the metal panels are minimized. The curves and slopes of the fan panel ceiling required extensive detail studies to ensure the even lighting of the ceiling from a discrete position. The result is a luminous centerpiece visible from every vantage point without visual distraction.
The decadent design continues with draped curtains lit from below to create a golden shimmer across the folds, while a soft overhead glow adds volume and depth. This treatment, inspired by a stage proscenium, frames the lounge with theatrical energy of the roaring 20s.
Each element of the lounge is individually articulated, yet together they immerse patrons in an environment where lighting is not simply illumination, but the performance itself. All the layers of light unify for an unforgettable environment to mix business and pleasure.
