Boat Hull for Simone Deary and Hyatt Centric Las Olas

This custom "Boat Hull" was built with Simeone Deary Design Group for Hyatt Centric Las Olas. Inspired by the yachting culture of the Fort Lauderdale area, SDDG tasked YGD with creating this sculptural piece to be poised over the reception desk. Meant to resemble a boat hull underwater, the geometric shapes were created by fitting many acrylic pieces together to form this beautiful abstract interpretation. This piece was built with acrylic panels strategically placed on a metal frame. Several of the acrylic pieces were lit from behind with fairy lights, and the full frame of the boat was lit with led neon strips placed to enhance the geometric shape. The colors of the acrylic were reflected and dark blues, blacks, and browns to simulate the feeling of being underwater.
