A 540-square-meter Duplex Penthouse in Royal Bay

The project is a duplex penthouse of Royal Bay in Jieyang. In this project, the simple and quiet tone, the clean changes of levels and the details and texture of the furniture, altogether interpret noble meticulousness and fashionable nobleness. The creative functional layout and furnishings bring a refreshing feeling as well.

In order to ensure both storage function and spatial flexibility, the designer arranged storage cabinets of different shapes hidden inside the background walls, increasing the spatial usage while leaving enough spaces for managing items. The living room is spacious without distinct partitions, realizing flexible and fluent flow of air and bringing families closer.

After moving the living balcony to the second floor, there is more room for an open kitchen area on the first floor. The kitchen island is used to accommodate daily kitchen utensils, and can also be transformed into a cooking platform, dining cabinet, bar counter, dining table, etc.

Taking into account the smooth circulation route and the division of functional spaces, the designer removed the staircase that should have been near the dining room to a hidden position at the aisle. Also, instead of using the spiral staircase commonly seen in a duplex room, the designer used a classic staircase with armored glass handrail, which is more convenient for the elderly and children, and saves space.

When going up the stairs, the multi-level terrace on the mezzanine embraces the city’s widest and best view of Rongjiang River, enabling occupants to enjoy the beauty of both sides of the river and Jieyang City in a free and pleasant way.

The master room, covering over 100 square meters, consists of three functional divisions: sleeping area, dressing area and bathroom. Large areas of French window, warm-colored wood flooring and cool curtain and beddings together create a comfortable private space.
