This space was created as an extended image of the private villa. It is hoped that the natural atmosphere of the mountains, forests, sky, and water can be injected into the house. Adhered to the eco-friendly concept, lots of idle stock materials were upcycled and used together with the owner's stone and the wood collection as part of the decor. Through interweaving colors and textures of different materials, it shows layers of characteristics and renders a modern Zen style. To accommodate both residential and entertaining needs, an open kitchen was incorporated into the living room. This skillfully blurs the division between living and dining areas and facilitates easy flow. In the planning of the overall space, a geometric combination of long sofas, long tables, and large cabinets, enables flexible and harmonious functionality - allowing the host and guests to interact in the open space. In the shared space, thanks to the material color and tactile quality, users can sit or lie on a carpet that mimics grass. To mitigate the oppressive sense of the ceiling caused by the structure of the house and the kitchen equipment, the corridors were covered by mirrored metals to the ceiling. The internal scenery of the reflective space is similar to the feeling of water reflection, which not only makes the natural color of the house more diffuse but also makes this space faintly reflected by the metal mirror material to achieve the effect of space enlargement and extension. In the private area, many places used gentle and simple elements to decorate the beams in the bedroom through arc-curved techniques, and the wooden tall cabinets that extend into the ceiling mimicking the towering trees, making the space warm and earthy with an added sense of mellow and tranquility. Different from the common approach of designing before material selection, this project utilized existing materials to tell a story about the space and borrowed the characteristics and nature of the materials. Using the material as the backdrop of the design and create a central statement of the owner’s manor landscape with bright colors and bold texture.
