Eleology is positioned as an organisation—an org created to actively support organic olive oil farming in Greece through sustainable practices, transparency, and long-term collaboration with independent producers. This organisational mindset formed the foundation of the design strategy, shifting the focus away from product-centric storytelling toward system-building, credibility, and continuity.
Rather than decorating a bottle, the brief was to construct a visual system capable of carrying purpose and responsibility over time. The decision was made for the org itself to become the dominant element of the label. The letter “o” as if it was an olive, is designed with a single drop of olive oil falling. The phrase “Empowering sustainable olive oil farmers in Greece” is not treated as a slogan or marketing line, but as an organising principle. Repeated, stacked, and given typographic weight, it functions as both statement and structure.
Colour is used with restraint and intent. The palette remains muted, mineral, and controlled, allowing information and hierarchy to lead. Soft greys, deep greens, and cool desaturated tones differentiate the trio while maintaining system coherence. Colour functions categorically rather than emotionally, supporting clarity, legibility, and calm recognition instead of decorative appeal.
The core trio of organic extra virgin olive oils draws from apothecary references. Squat proportions, dark glass, and restrained labels evoke pharmaceutical packaging, signalling care, precision, and accountability. These bottles are not designed as lifestyle objects, but as functional vessels. Olive oil is treated as a substance with consequence, not as an ornament.
Differentiation within the trio is achieved through subtle colour shifts and typographic nuance, while grid, hierarchy, and information architecture remain constant. The result is a modular family that behaves as a system. It’s coherent on shelf, legible at distance, and confident without excess.
Eleology’s packaging belongs visibly to an organisation committed to empowering a living agricultural ecosystem, grounded in practice rather than promise.
