The interior design for Binhai County Comprehensive Office Space establishes “security and confidentiality” as its cornerstone while integrating a human-centred approach. The objective is to create a holistic environment that seamlessly integrates office operations with detention services, achieving a perfect unity of functionality, cultural depth, and artistic expression.
The design narrative is deeply rooted in local heritage, creatively synthesizing two core elements: “Natural Lotus Elegance” and “Sea Salt Culture.” Curvilinear forms of lotus petals, organic shapes of lotus leaves, and intricate textures of lotus seed pods are transformed into flowing spatial lines and decorative motifs. Simultaneously, the crystalline granularity of sea salt and the geometric layouts of traditional salt fields inspire the project’s detailed aesthetics. By abstractly reconstructing these traditional symbols through contemporary design techniques, the space embodies the Eastern aesthetic ideals of “Purity, Elegance, Harmony, and Tranquility.” This approach not only metaphorically reflects the spirit of integrity and incorruptibility but also effectively alleviates the psychological pressure often associated with such specialized facilities.
To address the challenges of limited space and complex functional requirements, the project introduces the concept of “Flexible Space.” The strategic use of movable partitions and foldable furniture enables rapid scenario transitions, thereby maximizing spatial efficiency. Furthermore, material selection is meticulously tailored to specific functional needs: wear-resistant, anti-slip epoxy flooring is installed in high-traffic areas, while walls in quiet zones feature polyester fiber acoustic panels with superior sound-absorbing properties. This ensures both long-lasting durability and a serene atmosphere.
Sustainability is a defining highlight of the project. The entire facility utilizes energy-efficient LED lighting systems, complemented by expansive natural lighting and intelligent shading control to significantly reduce energy consumption. Moreover, strict adherence to health and environmental standards is maintained by selecting eco-friendly boards and water-based paints, minimizing the emission of harmful gases such as formaldehyde. The implementation of modular, recyclable furniture further demonstrates a commitment to reducing pollution at the source and practicing a low-carbon, circular economy.
