This residence embodies the concept of "proportional reinterpretation," skillfully integrating "curved volumes" as a defining architectural element. In a thoughtful approach, the design not only preserves the original layout and cherished artifacts but also reorganizes circulation and visual focal points. This intentional restructuring addresses and rectifies previously disjointed spatial relationships, fostering a more cohesive flow throughout the space. The foundation of the design features off-white and light gray marble, which evokes a sense of elegance and tranquility. Complemented by specially formulated coatings that offer a warm, tactile finish, the materials minimize glare while enhancing depth and richness. Moreover, the juxtaposition of dark wood elements introduces striking linear contrasts, establishing a stable yet understated modern-classical order. This harmonious balance not only restores equilibrium between scale and rhythm but also invites a profound sense of sophistication into the overall structure.
Upon stepping indoors, visitors' attention will be immediately drawn to the striking freestanding curved TV wall, which not only serves as the living room's centerpiece but also seamlessly integrates storage and display functions on its reverse side. This innovative design gently demarcates the entryway, living area, and dining space, all without the need for solid walls, thus preserving an open and airy feel while balancing spatial proportions. As guests proceed further, the circulation space extends into what was once a narrow corridor. Now transformed into a gallery-like passage, this area boasts elegant built-in bookshelves and rich dark herringbone wood flooring, inviting exploration of its visual appeal. Moreover, the public zone boldly embraces an open layout; closed partitions have been dismantled, revealing a thoughtfully designed central kitchen adjacent to the island. This strategic arrangement fosters a seamless connection between dining and social functions while flooding the space with natural light, ultimately enhancing the flexibility and intimacy of everyday interactions.
In the private domain, the design seamlessly continues with gentle curves, particularly evident in the master bedroom, which beautifully blends soft milky tea hues with elegant beige-gray tones. Furthermore, large curved frosted glass screens artfully strike a balance between transparency and privacy, allowing light to dance throughout the space.
